Rheuben Allen® Silver Plated Alto Saxophone - "Series 5"

Rheuben Allen® personally likes the Silver Plated Saxophone. We like the response, tone color and how it vibrates in your hands. With Rheuben Allen® new EZCare™ Tarnish Resistant Silver Plating these instruments are very tarnish resistant and will look great for a very long time compared to traditional silver plating.

These are Intermediate Saxophones for the student in mind. They are designed with many of the attributes of a Professional horn with an affordable price. These are incredible horns.

Newly Designed Fork F# & High F# keys

The High F# key can be reached and operated by any of the first three fingers of the right hand. This will allow the saxophonist to choose the proper fingering for the passage at hand.

The Fork F# or Trill F# key can be reached with very little finger movement. This makes the use of the Fork F# a better choice for many hard passages.

All Rheuben Allen Saxophones feature the newly designed High F# and Trill F# keys. The High F# key makes it easy to operate with any of the first three fingers of the right hand. Making many hard passages seem easy. The trill F# key is easy to reach without having to bring the finger far from the D key as in the traditional key designs, and thus making some passages much easier to play.

As many of you know, Dan Higgins and Rhueben Allen wrote a book many years ago called "High Notes for the Saxophone". It has always been Rheubens concept that the saxophonist should be able to reach the Harmonic or front F key without moving their hand from the palm key position. You should simply just be able to slide your first finger up and not need to either pick it up or move you hand out of the palm key position to operate the Harmonic key.

Rheuben believes he has reached this goal with the design of the harmonic key for the Series 5 saxophones.

Case Features

All of the Alto Saxophones come in the Cordura Shaped Light Weight Case.

The design the Alto Saxophone case with a shaped corner is unique, so it would be easy to carry over the shoulder and leave both hands free.

It still has a very large compartment for accessories and a mouthpiece compartment & a neck compartment.

The design of the neck compartment to go to the bottom of the case so the Saxophonist can put the neck in the bell with a neck bag and use the space for reeds etc...

Light Freedom/Power Neck Brace

The Saxophone is designed with a light version of the Freedom/Power Neck Brace as designed for the Professional Copper Body Alto Saxophone.

This design removes the large amount of solder from under the neck that is used in the traditional neck brace. This large amount of solder under the traditional neck brace does not allow the neck to vibrate as well as with less solder. This brace is very strong and we think it looks cool.

Altissimo, Front F or Harmonic Key Design

The design of the Altissimo, Front or Harmonic Key Design is for the Saxophonist in mind. It is easy to reach by leaving the first finger of the left hand on the ‘B’ pearl, yet it is far enough away so the saxophonist does not bump into or opens it by accident.

Taking Good Care of your New Rheuben Allen Sax
